Château Grand Dignitaire Gadagne

Presentation

Presentation
At the western wing of the Palais des Papes, a door set in the seventeenth century penetrate directly into the wing of the Great Dignitaries. A contemporary staircase leads up to the terrace, offering a breathtaking panorama of the area. Château Grand Dignitaire is the southernmost winery of the left bank of the Rhone river. The basement is made of clay and limestone and has the particularity of being covered with boulders deposited there millions of years ago by the Rhone, remnants of the old bed river. This exceptional terroir is also swept by the mistral that blows strong there, and thus reduces the treatment of vines. This microclimate allows a very integrated viticulture.
