The GALLEAN-GADAGNE descend from the Galliani family in Piedmont, and from the Guadagni from Florence. In 1598 Georges de Gallean married Louise de Gadagne. They had ten children, including Charles Felix. He had a distinguished military career and was appointed Lieutenant by Louis XIV. He acquired in 1668 the soil of Chateauneuf-de-Giraud-Amic. Then Pope Clement IX, in recognition of services rendered to the Holy See, raised this earth in duchy. The pope decided to name it "Duchy of Gadagne". Thus Count de Gallean became Duke of Gadagne and the village of Châteauneuf-de-Giraud-Amic
became Châteauneuf-de-Gadagne. Family DE GALARD allowed us in 2009 to use the name "Comte de Gallean" on one of our main Cuvee.

Traditional vinification with long vating.

Tasting
Purple color. Expressive nose of black fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry) and sweet
liquorice, finishing on an animal note.
Very balanced mouth with silky tannins and jammy flavours.
Food pairings
Grilled or roasted red meat – Washed rind cheeses.
