Once upon a time, if a picker left a grape on the vine during harvest time, the other workers would crush the grape on his or her face as a "punishment". The picker would thus end up with a blackened face, stained crimson by the juice of the grape, or mascaré.
The Domaine des Mascarons cuvée takes its name from this custom.

Advice
Serving
To be served at 15/16°C.
Tasting
Beautiful deep, brilliant red color.
Intense and expressive nose, marked by peppery notes and hints of garrigue (thyme,
rosemary), giving it a lovely character.
A round and supple palate, dominated by aromas of ripe red fruits (especially
cherry). Beautiful sweetness on the attack, supported by present but mellow tannins,
providing good overall balance.

Food pairings
Perfect with grilled beef, marinated meats, or assorted cheese platters.
